East Frisia: working where others go for holiday

Working where others go on holiday - of course this applies to all Romantik employees who work in the numerous houses throughout Europe. This also includes the Romantik Hotel Reichshof in the East Frisian town of Norden, which is only a jump away from the North Sea coast belonging to a region that can look forward to almost a million tourists and holidaymakers every year..

"East Frisia is already a very special region. You have the sea on your doorstep, you can completely escape everyday life by crossing over to one of the East Frisian islands and you can also enjoy the fact that the clocks tick a little slower up here on the coast," says Marius Siebelmann, who has been working as a marketing assistant at the Romantik Hotel Reichshof in the north for almost a year, highlighting the advantages of the region.

For love's sake, the native Westphalian moved to East Friesland - but he didn't regret the change of location: "The region has an incredible amount to offer. You have everything you need locally. If you feel like a big city flair, you can also be in Oldenburg or Groningen in about an hour. In addition, people here are very relaxed."

As a marketing assistant at the Romantik Hotel Reichshof, he takes on all the tasks that this area entails - from the creation of classic print ads and search engine optimization to smaller market research projects and social media. "The activities are incredibly versatile. You coordinate a lot, coordinate with the team and implement ideas at the end. I really like this spectrum of tasks and it also makes the work varied and exciting".

The area of Online Reputation Management is also part of Mr. Siebelmann's responsibility. "I didn't actually have any contact points with this area before I started working in Norden, so I was a little curious about what to expect," admits the 30-year-old, who has also become acquainted with this area of responsibility in the meantime. Mr Siebelmann is also the first point of contact when it comes to coordination with external agencies.

"I don't really come from the catering and hotel industry, so I didn't have any experience before my time in Norden. But the Haver-Franke family and the entire team here made my entry very pleasant," says the marketing assistant, looking back on his first days in the 4* Superior House in East Frisia. "Working in a family business makes many things easier. The communication and decision ways are shorter, so that one can convert many ideas fast.

"The two managing directors Martina Haver Franke and Bjoern Haver, leading the house in the 3. generation, are open faced towards the topics online and digitization, so that we also moved a lot  in these areas in the last months. The feedback for events is now completely digital, and our online activities have also increased considerably," says the 30-year-old about developments and shifts in marketing activities in recent months.
